Largest hollow shaft gear with high output performance

Engineers at Harmonic Drive AG have succeeded in developing Further Their proven strain wave gears. The result is the new IridiumLine® Gear Series with the largest possible hollow shaft. This new gear series supports fully flexible selection of the gear sizes - a technology known as WavePlus®. WavePlus® Technology is based on the use of needle bearings in the Wave Generator, Which havebeen developed specifically for the large largest possible hollow shafts. Extremely large hollow shaft-diameter of up to 60% of the external diameter are now possible without restricting the torque capacity. IridiumLine® Gears with WavePlus® are available in sizes 14 to 58 with gear Reductions between 30: 1 and 460:. 1 The complete gears have a length of 19 mm to 61 mm, with external-diameter of between 50 mm and 195 mm. Repeatable peak torques of up to 1300 Nm are possible with hollow shaft-diameter up to 115 mm. In addition, the gears are available in two precision classes BL3 and BL1 (3 angular minutes or 1 minute of angular backlash). At present, Harmonic Drive® Gears IridiumLine® therefore are being developed with WavePlus® as the gear component and gears with special, custom designed output bearing technology.
