UK government suspends UKCA label requirement

In September last year, we informed that, due to the existing British regulations, from January 1, 2023 at the latest, all mechatronic products such as servo actuators and servo controllers, which today bear a CE mark, will also be marked with an additional UKCA adhesive label.

The background to this was the announcement by the government of the United Kingdom that as from January 1, 2023, the European CE marking will no longer be valid in England, Wales and Scotland. In replacement, the new UKCA standard (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed) should be applied.

In November 2022 the coming into effect of this legislation was postponed by the UK government for further two years. On 01 August 2023, the British government finally announced that the CE mark would remain valid in the UK market indefinitely.

Harmonic Drive SE therefore has decided not to implement the introduction of the UKCA label.
