Development engineer specializing in the design of harmonic drive gearboxes for aerospace applications
As a Development Engineer specializing in Harmonic Drive gearbox design for the aerospace industry, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, and dimensioning of customer-specific gearbox units for the aerospace sector. You will collaborate with the customer, sales, and development teams, adhering to industry standards. Your responsibilities will also include specifying purchased components and coordinating the scope of supply with the supplier as the basis for material procurement.

Your Tasks
- Draft, design, and sizing of customer specific gear units for Aviation and Space in collaboration with customer, sales, and development department accounting for branch specific standards
- Detailed design of drafts following the definition phase
- Selection and dimensioning of mechanical components
- Specification of supplied parts as well as alignment of scope of delivery with suppliers as baseline for supply chain
- Strength calculations and reliability assessment for mechanical components and interfaces
- Creation of relevant design justification documents as per customer request
- Evaluation of producibility with manufacturing engineering, as well as support during manufacturing and assembly of prototypes
Your Profile
- Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering (M.Sc./ Dipl. Ing)
- Technical knowledge in the field of mechanical design, ideally with suppliers in aerospace sector
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Task-specific knowledge in configuration management (DIN 10007) and quality management for aerospace (DIN 9100)
- CAD knowledge (3D/2D)
- Knowledge of document management
